Find out which are the best NC boys’ basketball teams in our latest rankings

There are 13 new teams in the latest N.C. statewide boys’ high school basketball rankings.

The boys’ rankings come one day after 19 new teams joined the girls’ rankings. The NCHSAA moved from four classifications to eight this season, thus doubling the number of ranked teams.

It’s also causing quite a bit of havoc with the weekly polls.

In addition to new teams, there is also a new No. 1 team in the 4A poll, where 4A Washington moved up from No. 4 to the top spot. Former No. 1 Reidsville (0-0) has yet to play this season.

The rankings are compiled by Rick Lewis, a longtime N.C. high school basketball expert and a co-host of The Observer’s Talking Preps streaming show.
