Matt Blume, A.L. Brown baseball: The Wonders’ senior hit .417 with a grand slam, a home run and seven RBIs to help A.L. Brown to a 2-1 record last week.

Blume also pitched 6.1 innings with 13 strikeouts in a 6-5 win over Cox Mill on April 14.

A.L. Brown (14-7) also won 17-6 at Concord on April 13, and lost 7-6 at Cox Mill on April 17.

Blume, a Mars Hill University commit, is batting .354 with 23 RBIs, while going 4-1 with a 2.98 earned-run average (ERA) on the mound.

Tripp Burns, Lake Norman Charter golf: The Knights’ junior shot a 1-under-par 35 to earn medalist honors at the 500 Club in Statesville in a Catawba Shores’ 2A/3A/4A conference match on April 13.

Burns also led the Lake Norman Charter golf team to a runner-up finish at the same match.

Henry Floyd, Mooresville: The Blue Devils’ freshman shot a 2-under-par 34 to earn medalist honors at Statesville Country Club on April 15.

Floyd’s play also helped the Mooresville golf team to victory in its last regular season North Piedmont conference match.

Jackson Grathwhol, Pine Lake Prep tennis: The Pride senior teamed with sophomore Christian Endsjo to win 8-1 in No. 1 doubles to help Pine Lake Prep to a 7-2 victory at North Iredell on April 13.

The next day, Grathwohl won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles to help Pine Lake Prep to a 9-0 victory at Corvian Charter.

Grathwohl finished off the week with another 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles, while also winning 8-5 in No. 1 doubles with Endsjo, to lead the Pride to a 7-2 win over Community School of Davidson on April 15.

Grathwohl is 9-1 in singles’ play this season and 46-8 overall in his Pride career.

Evan Hogg, SouthLake Christian baseball: The Eagles’ senior went 7-for-9 at the plate with three singles, three doubles, a triple, six RBIs, six stolen bases and two runs scored as SouthLake Christian went 1-2 last week.

Hogg helped the Eagles to a 13-3 win over Gaston Day, before losing at Hickory Grove (4-2 on April 14) and at Providence Day (8-3 on April 17).

Hogg, a James Madison University commit, is batting .520 with two home runs, five doubles, five triples, 25 RBIs, 21 runs scored and 26 stolen bases for SouthLake Christian (11-6).

William Kirchner, Providence Day lacrosse: The Chargers’ junior defender helped Providence Day defense limit the Charlotte Latin offense in an 11-5 road victory on April 14.

Kirchner also led the Providence Day defense to 6-5 win at Christ School on April 17.

Kirchner did this after recently returning from an injury that forced him to miss 10 games, according to Providence Day lacrosse coach Bobby Thompson.

Sanjit Nathan, Cox Mill tennis: The Chargers’ sophomore won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, and also won 8-6 at No. 3 doubles with teammate Chris Georgiev to seal a 5-4 win at Marvin Ridge on April 13.

Cox Mill (16-2) also won 9-0 at Central Cabarrus on April 16.

Madden Parent, Lake Norman lacrosse: The Wildcats’ sophomore midfielder scored five goals and had one assist in a 13-8 win at Lake Norman Charter on April 16.

Lake Norman is 13-4 overall this season.

Michael Pitsiniagas, Providence baseball: The Panthers’ senior tossed five no-hit innings to earn the victory in a 9-0 win over Ballantyne Ridge on April 14.

Providence (21-1) also won 13-0 at Ballantyne Ridge on April 17.

Pitsiniagas is a Wingate commit.

Jacob Seamon, Metrolina Christian baseball: The Warriors’ junior went 7-for-12 with two home runs, a double, a triple, 10 RBIs, seven runs scored and four stolen bases as Metrolina Christian went 2-1 last week.

Seamon led Metrolina Christian (21-3) to wins at Hickory Grove (19-1, April 16) and Christ School (10-0, April 17), while losing 10-9 at Gaston Christian on April 14.

Seamon is an LSU commit.

Joey Wynn, Charlotte Christian track: The Knights’ sophomore ran the NCISAA’s fastest 300-meter hurdles time this outdoor season, going 38.68 to win the Need for Speed Invitational at Ballantyne Ridge High on April 18.

Wynn also helped the Charlotte Christian 4 X 100-meter relay to an NCISAA-best 41.50 as the Knights’ relay also won the event at the same meet.

Wynn’s efforts also helped the Charlotte Christian track to victory at the Need for Speed Invitational.

Cole Zindars, Ardrey Kell baseball: The Knights’ senior catcher went 4-for-11 at the plate with a grand-slam, home run and six RBIs as Ardrey Kell went 3-0 last week.

Zindars helped Ardrey Kell (20-2) to win a 12-2 win over East Mecklenburg on April 14; an 11-6 victory over Lincoln Charter on April 15; and then another 10-3 win at East Mecklenburg on April 17.
