Brihanna Ashcraft, Union Academy track: Ashcraft was NCHSAA 3A state MVP after winning the 100-, 200- and 400-meter championships.

Bella Marie Black, Mallard Creek track: Black won the 100-meters plus the 200 and anchored the 400-relay team, leading Mallard Creek to its first state championship in the sport.

Kiri Campbell, Metrolina Christian track: Campbell won the 100- and 300-hurdles at the NCISAA state championships Saturday.

Mylan Clay, Corvian Community: Clay was named meet MVP of the NCHSAA 2A state title after winning the 100- and 300-hurdles as well as the triple jump.

Zanovia Davis, Garinger track: Davis won the 400-meters at the 8A state championships Saturday. Earlier this year, she broke the school’s 41-year-old record in the 400-meters, set by her coach, Tan Filmore-Scott.

Christina Hall, Cannon School track: Hall, a freshman, won the 100- and 200-meters at the NCISAA state championships last week. She set a new school-record in the 200 (24.56 seconds). She broke her own school-record in winning the long jump (18-2) and she anchored Cannon’s 400-meter relay team, which also won the state title.

Reilly Jane Llaneza, Covenant Day softball: Llaneza was 2 for 4 with two RBIs in a 9-5 win over Cannon School in the NCISAA championship game Saturday. Covenant Day won its first state title in the sport.

Promise Lovelace, Statesville track: Lovelace won the shot put and discus at the NCHSAA 6A state championship.

Linzie Rosenberger, Bradford Prep soccer: The sophomore goalie led her team to the third round of the playoffs for the second straight season. In a second round win over Highland Tech, Rosenberger broke the school’s career saves record.

Coryn Tucker, JM Robinson track: Tucker won girls’ MVP at the NC 5A state meet last week, after winning the 100-, 200- and 400-meter titles.
