Who’s No. 1 in the Observer’s Sweet 16 football poll this week?
There’s no change in this week’s Observer Sweet 16 poll. Mallard Creek still is No. 1 after a comfortable 42-13 win Friday at West Charlotte.
Next week, though, there could be some movement.
No. 7 A.L. Brown, off to its best start in nine years, will play at No. 6 Vance this week. This game could be high-scoring. Both teams average more than 40 points per game.
The Wonders got 23 carries for 138 yards and three touchdowns from running back Sandon McCoy to beat North Mecklenburg 42-20 last week. Vance had a bye.
