Lincolnton, 7-foot Raekwon Long, return to Observer’s Sweet 16 boys’ rankings
Welcome Lincolnton and 7-foot center Raekwon Long back into the Sweet 16. Lincolnton, a 2A power, is ranked No. 16 this week in the Observer’s Sweet 16 basketball poll.
Long, a former Garinger High star, had 15 points in Tuesday’s 73-60 victory over West Caldwell. Lincolnton has won five straight games.
▪ Charlotte Catholic was upset by Ardrey Kell and fell two spots to No. 5. … Butler jumped two spots to No. 8 and Independence jumped two spots to No. 14. Independence will play Friday at Butler for the Southwestern 4A championship.
