Josh Coley is the new boys basketball coach at United Faith.

Coley, 28, will start his third head coaching job. He coached two years each at Garinger and Carmel Christian.

At United Faith, Coley replaces Gary Gadsden, who coached the Falcons for two years.

Coley led Carmel Christian to a 23-8 record and won the Southern Piedmont Athletic Association championship. At United Faith, he’ll return to the same conference. Carmel Christian replaced Coley with Byron Dinkins, who led Northside Christian to six straight state championship appearances.

United Faith has a rich basketball history, producing two state championships. Point guard Ian Miller, the Observer’s player of the year in 2009 and 2010, is one of the best players in Mecklenburg County history, and former Charlotte Hornet star Muggy Bogues is a former Falcons head coach.
