Kerstie Phills, Charlotte Christian girls basketball: NCISAA all-state star committed to Wagner University.

Myers Park girls lacrosse: After Ardrey Kell rallied from a 12-6 deficit in the final 18 minutes to force overtime, Myers Park sophomore Parker Bergeron passed to senior Aubrey Shelley who delivered the game-winner and pushed Myers Park to Friday’s state quarterfinal at rival Charlotte Catholic.

Cannon boys golf: repeated as CISAA conference champions Monday, led by medalist Tim Bunten, who shot 3-under 69 at Cabarrus Country Club. The NCISAA state final is Tuesday at the Salisbury Country Club.

High School Heroes

▪ Richard Arendale, Charlotte Country Day baseball: 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in an 8-3 playoff win over SouthLake Christian.

▪ Jenny Carlton, Covenant Day softball: two singles and a double plus seven strikeouts pitching in a 15-4 win over SouthLake Christian.

▪ Brett Carter, Kevin Wharton-Price, SouthLake Christian basketball: Carter signed with West Florida and Wharton-Price with Lee (Tenn) University. Both players were all-conference in the MAC conference.

▪ Will Crane, Sean Wydra, Hough tennis: Won N.C. 4A West regional doubles championship Saturday.

▪ Bailey Dees, Hough baseball: 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI in a 2-1 win over Porter Ridge in the first round of the N.C. 4A baseball playoffs.

▪ Ryan Jurist, Lake Norman tennis: Won N.C. 4A Western regional championship Saturday.

▪ Morgan Krise, Kelsea Little, Marvin Ridge girls lacrosse: six goals for Krise and five for Little in a 19-8 win over Jamestown Ragsdale.

▪ Alex Leshock, Marvin Ridge baseball: 3-for-3 in a 9-2 win over Hickory Ridge in the first round of the 3A playoffs. Marvin Ridge (23-4) is the reigning N.C. 3A champions.

▪ George Lovitt, John Hatala, Avanish Madhavaran, Marvin Ridge tennis: Lovitt won the N.C. 3A Midwest tennis regional singles championship Saturday in Concord. Hatala and Madhavaran won doubles.

▪ Hannah Perkins, Landon Shelley, Myers Park girls lacrosse: Perkins had five goals and an assist in a 13-12 overtime win over Ardrey Kell in the third round of the N.C. playoffs. Shelley had two goals and three assists. Ardrey Kell got four goals and an assist from Emily Barnes.

▪ Henry Ryan, Ardrey Kell baseball: pitched six innings in a 5-0 win over McDowell in first round of the N.C. 4A playoffs. Ryan faced 22 battters, struck out seven allowed allowed four hits. Teammate Cameron Brantley had a homer and two RBIs.

▪ Abby Schomberg, Providence girls soccer: three goals in a 9-0 win over Davie County in the first round of the 4A playoffs. Lizzie Wilson and Lizah Pistorio shared the shutout for the Panthers (20-1-1).

▪ Charlie Schuls, Forestview tennis: Won N.C. 3A Western regional championship Saturday.

▪ Justin Williams, Independence baseball: 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in a 7-2 first round playoff win over Myers Park. Teammate Cole Faulk was 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
