Photos: NASCAR community turns out for Humpy Wheeler’s funeral

A funeral was held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Charlotte on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Wheeler was the former president of Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC for 33 years. A legendary promoter, Wheeler has been described as the “P.T. Barnum of motorsports.”
He passed away on August 20, 2025 at the age of 86.
