Is the Baker Mayfield trade good for the Carolina Panthers? Tell us what you think

Carolina Panthers trade for Baker Mayfield

For a third straight offseason, the Carolina Panthers have acquired a new (potential) starting quarterback.

The Cleveland Browns agreed to trade Baker Mayfield to the Panthers in exchange for a conditional draft pick. The Panthers will pay $4.85 million of Mayfield’s salary — he was originally owed $18.8 million this year.

Mayfield, 27, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 draft. He is 29-30 all-time as an NFL starter but had a few impressive seasons — including one that saw a Browns’ playoff win in 2020 — before having a 2021 year riddled with injuries and turnovers.

He joins a now-crowded quarterback room in Carolina with Sam Darnold (2018’s third overall pick) and Matt Corral (a third-round pick in 2022).

How do Panthers fans feel about all this?
