Panthers-Falcons Week 8 inactives: D’Onta Foreman ready to rock with Chuba Hubbard out
The Carolina Panthers will lean on the running back tandem of D’Onta Foreman and Raheem Blackshear against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Chuba Hubbard, who started last week’s win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was ruled out with an ankle injury on Friday. Hubbard ran for 63 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers before injuring his ankle.
Foreman ran for 118 yards against Tampa Bay and will look to duplicate that success against Atlanta with Hubbard sidelined. Blackshear can fill Hubbard’s void in the passing game, as he has the versatility to make big plays in the flat and out of the backfield.
The Panthers elevated running back Spencer Brown from the practice squad on Saturday. He will be the emergency third running back behind Foreman and Hubbard against Atlanta. Brown spent the entire offseason with the Panthers, but only re-signed with the team last week.
In positive news, cornerback Jaycee Horn (ribs) is available and will play against the Falcons, despite being listed as questionable entering the weekend. Horn has missed the past two games.
