Key Carolina Panthers receiver ruled out before Minnesota Vikings game, plus all inactives

Bryce Young will be down one key target Sunday.

Rookie wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, who entered concussion protocol earlier this week, was listed as inactive for the Carolina Panthers’ Week 4 contest against the Minnesota Vikings. He was previously listed as “questionable.”

The second-round draft pick has notched eight receptions for 64 yards this season. Even still, he’s an important part of the offense; he’s notched the third-most targets on the team with 19.

Expect Adam Thielen, the offensive captain playing against his old team, and Terrace Marshall to step up in his stead.

Also listed as inactive for the Panthers: RB Raheem Blackshear, S Xavier Woods (long-term hamstring injury), CB Sam Webb, LB Deion Jones and OT David Sharpe.

It’s worth noting that the Jones move comes a week after he notched an interception against the Seahawks. DJ Johnson has been listed as active Sunday — the first time since Week 1, a game in which he saw no snaps on defense or special teams.

The Panthers have been banged up all season — losing defensive back Jaycee Horn and spiritual leader LB Shaq Thompson for substantial time in the first two weeks of the campaign — and that trend continued this week. Linebacker Frankie Luvu (hip) and running back Miles Sanders (groin) were listed as questionable a few days ago but will play.

One note from the Vikings side: Offensive lineman Garrett Bradbury, a Charlotte Christian and NC State product, has been listed as inactive.
