Blumenthal Performing Arts

Caroline Calouche & Company
Troupe combining floor movement and aerial work performs around the city, mostly at Booth Playhouse. carolinecalouche.org.
Dec. 8-10: “A Cirque and Dance Nutcracker.”
Feb. 9-10: “Rouge.”
May 4-13: “Lingua.”
Charlotte Ballet
The region’s only fully professional dance company does a mix of works classic and modern, usually at Belk or Knight theaters or at McBride-Bonnefoux Center for Dance at 701 N. Tryon St. 704-372-0101; charlotteballet.org.
Oct. 19-21: “Fall Works.” Johan Inger’s “Walking Mad,” George Balanchine’s “Apollo,” Javier De Frutos’ “Elsa Canasta.”
Nov. 17: “Choreographic Lab,” new works by Charlotte Ballet members.
Dec. 9-23: “The Nutcracker.”
Jan. 26-Feb. 17: “Innovative Works.” New pieces by Sasha Janes, Myles Thatcher, Robyn Mineko Williams..
March 3: “Dancing With the Stars of Charlotte” gala fundraiser.
March 9-18: Javier De Frutos’ “The Most Incredible Thing” with music by Pet Shop Boys.
April 26-28: “Spring Works.” New works by Bryan Arias and Felipe Portugal, plus Helen Pickett’s “Tsukiyo” and Ohad Naharin’s “Minus 16.”
Charlotte Youth Ballet
Young performers and professionals blend in classical ballet productions, usually at CPCC’s Halton Theatre. charlotteyouthballet.org. The season, not fully announced at press time, generally consists of “The Nutcracker” (Dec. 1-3 in Halton) and a story ballet in March.
