You need more Pioneer Woman in your life?
Fans who can’t get enough of Ree Drummond, the woman who turned her ranch life into a lifestyle brand, are about to get another dose, this time in print with The Pioneer Woman Magazine.
Hearst Magazines and Scripps Networks are releasing a magazine featuring Drummond on June 6, joining other popular TV figures such as Martha Stewart, Oprah Winfrey and Rachael Ray who have put their lives on glossy pages. Maile Carpenter, editor in chief of Food Network Magazine, will edit the pilot issue.
The magazine will cost $3.99 and the debut issue will only be available at Walmart. The first issue will include shopping guides such as “A Girls’ Guide to Cowboy Boots,” a feature on folk-art aprons, recipes and photo essays.
Drummond was an early and very successful blogger, when she turned her fish-way-out-of-water story about marrying a rancher into a cooking and lifestyle blog, The Pioneer Woman, in 2006. Her combination of strong photography, anyone-can-make-it recipes and family values became a phenomenon, leading to several books and a Food Network show.
