Add another long-awaited Charlotte restaurant to the list for South End:

Atlanta super-chef Ford Fry has announced that he plans to open Superica on May 21 in the Design Center, 101 W. Worthington Ave., pending approval of the liquor license. (Fry's restaurant had been scheduled to open May 14, but has now been pushed back a week.)

Superica in Charlotte will be in a 7,000-square-foot space with a Tex-Mex menu, including wood-grilled fajitas, shrimp tacos and fresh tortillas. The bar program will include local liquors, margaritas and agave spirits. The chef in Charlotte will be Kevin Maxey.

The first Superica location outside Atlanta, the Charlotte location will include patio dining.
