Texas taco chain plans first N.C. location in Matthews

Attention, Costco shoppers: The busy Sycamore Commons shopping center near Matthews is about to add another food option.

Texas-based chain Fuzzy's Taco Shop will open its first N.C. location on May 3 at 2225 Matthews Township Parkway, near N.C. 51 and Independence Boulevard.

In addition to tacos and a full bar, Fuzzy's also serves breakfast all day, including huevos rancheros, migas and chilaquiles. It's open daily from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. (until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays).

Fuzzy's started in Fort Worth in 2003 and now has more than 140 locations across the country. The Charlotte franchise is owned by Southern Deli Holdings.
