Belk hires 2 execs from Victoria’s Secret, MasterCard
Charlotte-based Belk has named two new executive vice presidents: Randy Whitaker will serve as EVP, chief stores officer, and Ron Garrow will serve as EVP, chief people officer.
Whitaker and Garrow will assume their new roles June 27 and July 11, respectively, Belk said in a statement. Both will serve on Belk’s senior leadership team.
Whitaker will oversee Belk’s stores organization, which includes three store divisions: store operations, real estate and merchandising presentation, Belk said. Most recently, Whitaker was EVP of store operations at Victoria’s Secret.
Garrow will oversee Belk’s human resources and communications departments. Most recently, he was chief human resources officer at MasterCard.
Belk operates 293 stores in 16 Southern states. The department store chain employs approximately 1,400 people at its headquarters on Tyvola Road.
In December, New York-based private equity firm Sycamore Partners completed its purchase of Belk for $3 billion.
