1 killed in west Charlotte shooting
A man was shot and killed Thursday night in west Charlotte, marking the city’s 56th homicide of 2017.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were called to the 2000 block of Pleasant Dale Drive at 7:19 p.m. and found the man with a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not identify him.
Police said they identified a person of interest at the scene, and he was interviewed by homicide detectives Thursday night. Police believe the victim and person of interest knew each other.
