Following protests, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar renames breakfast dish
Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar is renaming a breakfast dish featuring eggs, jalapeno peppers and salsa after its original name – the “Border Patrol Scramble” – attracted criticism.
Menus calling the dish the “Spicy Morning Scramble” will be available starting Wednesday, the company said.
The scramble was only available at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport location of the Charlotte-based chain, where activist Andrea Pino spotted it and objected on Twitter.
“Way to reflect today’s America,” she said.

More people criticized the name on Facebook, calling it “racist” and insensitive to immigrant families.
Bad Daddy’s replied to complaints on Twitter and Facebook, asking people to reach out via direct message.
On Tuesday, the company issued a statement through its PR company.
“We apologize for any perceived insensitivity...We appreciate those who brought this matter to our attention,” the statement said.
