2 female suspects in custody after standoff at east Charlotte apartment complex
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police took two female suspects into custody on Thursday night after a standoff that lasted several hours at an east Charlotte apartment, Observer news partner WBTV reported.
The suspects, reported to have been involved in a robbery, left the apartment in the Peppertree Apartments on Central Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m.
At least a dozen CMPD cars responded to the complex on Thursday afternoon and blocked the entrance.
At about 8:20 p.m., a police officer used a loudspeaker to tell the suspects in the apartment, “Nothing good is going to come of this if you don’t come out now,” WBTV reported.
A minute later, the officer said, “I’m very proud of you, keep your hands up,” according to the station.
