A father and son were seriously injured earlier this week after a car struck them in a Harris Teeter parking lot in south Charlotte.

The incident happened Tuesday evening after a group of people shoplifted from the store at 9720 Rea Road.

A suspect stole a case of Bud Light, according to a police report, and the driver of the getaway car hit 41-year-old Nathan Green and his 4-year-old son. They both sustained severe lacerations and were taken to Carolinas Medical Center, according to the police report.

Green had multiple skull fractures, and the boy had a deep gash wound on his head, WSOC reported.

Amber Green, Nathan's wife, told WCNC her husband won't be able to drive for a while because of his injuries.
