Man fatally shot in west Charlotte
A 41-year-old man was fatally shot late Tuesday in west Charlotte
Shortly before midnight, police found Donnell Eric Drakeford, 41, with a gunshot wound in the 4400 block of Ridgevalley Drive, off Freedom Drive. Police had responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon. Medic pronounced Drakeford dead at the scene.
Police were searching the neighborhood for witnesses and haven’t said if they have a suspect or motive.
