Lincolnton, star receiver Sage Surratt, jump in the Observer’s Sweet 16 poll
Lincolnton High School is having a remarkable football season.
The Wolves are averaging nearly 50 points per game and are unbeaten through five games. This week, Lincolnton makes its debut in the Observer’s Sweet 16 football poll for the 2016 season. That powerhouse offense features QB Cordel Littlejohn, who has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards and 11 scores, and receiver Sage Surratt, who has caught a team-high 32 passses for a team-high 461 yards and four touchdowns.
Senior Langdon Givens has caught 14 passes for 314 yards and six scores, and tailback Xavier McClain has rushed for 748 yards and 12 scores, averaging better than 10 yards per carry.
