UNC basketball recruit picks high school for senior year, joins another top prospect
North Carolina men’s basketball recruit Rechon “Leaky” Black is coming home, his father, Chon Black, told the Observer.
Black will play his senior season at Concord’s Cox Mill High, which is Black's home school.
Black, a 6-foot-8 point guard, committed to the Tar Heels as a sophomore while at Concord High. For his junior season, he transferred to Montverde Academy, a national power outside Orlando, Fla.
Black's family has since moved into the Cox Mill district.
At Cox Mill, which won the 3A state boys’ title last season, Black will pair with top 50 recruit Wendell Moore, a rising junior.
Moore, a 6-5 wing, was the N.C. Coaches Association Player of the Year as a sophomore.
