North Mecklenburg junior Jae’Lyn Withers is the I-MECK 4A all-conference boys basketball player of the year.

Withers, a 6-foot-9 junior, led the Vikings to a 27-2 record and a conference regular-season and conference tournament championship.

Hopewell’s Michael McNeil is the conference coach of the year.

McNeil led Hopewell to a 19-9 record this season, which was the Titans first winning season since the 2009-10 season.

▪ The all-conference girls team will be announced when Mallard Creek completes its season. The Mavericks will play in Saturday’s N.C. 4A state semifinal against Northwest Guilford.
