Some of the best high school basketball players in North Carolina will play in an elite travel ball showcase in the Charlotte-area Saturday and Sunday.
The Phenom Hoops Queen City Showcase will be played at Clover, Fort Mill, Nation Ford and York High Schools. The showcase will feature several national travel teams, including Chris Paul's CP3 organization, Raymond Felton's Team Felton; Jeff McInnis' Team Charlotte; Team United, which produced current UNC star Luke Maye and former UNC star Kennedy Meeks; and Team Loaded, which produced three NBA draft picks last summer.
Participating teams will come from six different states.
Five players are ranked in the top 100 nationally in the class of 2019 by 247Sports: Duke recruit Joey Baker (No. 21, Team Felton); UNC and Duke target Wendell Moore (No. 23, Team CP3); Juwan Gary (No. 47, Team United); Greg Gantt (No. 76, Team Felton); Donovan Gregory (No. 82, Team Charlotte).
Those players -- being recruited by schools like Clemson Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky and South Carolina -- will play in the 17U division.
Saturday's feature game is at 7:40 p.m. at Clover High School. Moore's CP3 team will face off against Baker's Team Felton.
“This is a great event to have across York County,” says Andy Clinton, VP of Destination Services for the Rock Hill/York County Convention and Visitor's Bureau. “There are a lot of teams coming in that will generate economic impact, as well as the community interest to watch some of the top high school basketball players in the country.”
Tickets are $15 on Saturday and $10 on Sunday
