Forward Christian Wood signs with Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets have signed former Philadelphia 76ers power forward-center Christian Wood.

Wood, 6-10 and 220 pounds, averaged 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in his rookie season with the 76ers. He played part of the season with the Sixers’ Development League franchise in Delaware.

Hornets general manager Rich Cho indicated last week that, while most of the roster was completed, he planned to make one or two more signings.

Wood, 20, played his college ball at Nevada-Las Vegas. He went unselected in the 2015 NBA draft.

Wood’s signing brings the Hornets’ roster to 14, with a regular-season limit of 15.
