Vivienne, a Nordic comfort food concept from James and Cameron Barker, is opening Friday inside Free Range Brewing in Villa Heights after starting as a pop-up in 2025. The Vivienne menu leans into Scandinavian classics like Danish Røde Pølser street hot dogs, Faroese-inspired seafood, Swedish Pytt i Panna and open-faced Smørrebrød sandwiches, served Wednesday through Sunday

🏀 NC’s first women’s sports bar is opening

Q-Hall, billed as North Carolina’s first bar dedicated to women’s sports, is expected to open in Asheville by September and will also serve as the city’s only self-identified lesbian bar. Founder JJ Pope was inspired to launch Q-Hall after visiting The Sports Bra in Portland, Oregon, during the Women’s World Cup, and plans call for every TV at the bar to show women’s sports, from the WNBA to college softball.
