All-day European cafe Sister will close its doors in Plaza Midwood
Sister, the all-day European-inspired cafe in Commonwealth/Plaza Midwood, will close its doors on July 31.
Longtime Charlotte restaurateurs owners Andy and Lesa Kastanas opened Sister in January in their former Kiki Bistro spot. It served Greek and Eastern Mediterranean dishes, featuring items from Kiki’s menu and favorites from Soul Gastrolounge, also owned by the Kastanases.
On Thursday, Sister announced its closing via Instagram:
“We’re so grateful for the support you’ve given us and thankful for all the encouragement we’ve received,” owners wrote. “While we’ve experienced growth during the last six months and have been hopeful about the future, rising food, labor and rent costs have made it impossible for us to continue.”
Want to swing by before it closes? The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. In April, the team added brunch service.
“Come through and book a party in our final days or just drop in to have dinner and a cocktail to say goodbye,” stated the Instagram post.
