Plans for a new Summit Coffee location in Lake Norman are under way. “Summit is coming to Cornelius. Get hyped,” the Davidson-based coffee shop said via Instagram.

The new shop will be on NC 115, also called North Main Street, near Food Lion and Habitat for Humanity, across the street from Main Street Veterinary Hospital.

Excited Lake Norman area residents and business owners were quick to respond.

“I saw this driving home on 115 yesterday and was so excited!!,” Amanda Farr Spear replied on Instagram.

“We are so hyped!!,” said Lake Norman Balloon Co.

When the Cornelius location opens, Summit will have eight Charlotte-area locations, plus two in Asheville and one in Roswell, Georgia. New Charlotte locations are also on the way in 2023 in Ballantyne and Eastover, according to its website and Instagram.

No timeline for the opening has been announced.

A message for Summit Coffee seeking details wasn’t immediately returned, but stay tuned for updates.
