New Spanish tapas restaurant making its way to Charlotte’s South End soon. Here’s when
A new restaurant is joining the lineup of food spots in South End soon.
Que Hospitality, the team behind Que Onda and Que Fresa, is opening Catalú, serving authentic Catalonian cuisine with an “innovative approach” to traditional Spanish tapas.
It’ll be located in the space once home to Eight + Sand Kitchen, which recently closed. The new restaurant will open its doors on April 23, on Sant Jordi Day, a traditional Catalan holiday.
“It’s been a dream of mine to return to my Spanish Hospitality roots and I feel now is the time to introduce this new brand to Charlotte, more specifically South End. It will be an honor to continue the Eight + Sand legacy in this prime location,” owner Manny Flores said.
“They did an amazing job taking care of the South End community and that will be a focus of ours, as well.”
After traveling to Spain, the team plans to offer a menu completely inspired by the Catalan region with tapas, sangria and gin-focused cocktails, along with a wine program highlighting Spanish wines.
“Our roots in Charlotte are deep and we can’t wait to be part of South End,” Flores said. “We are very passionate about Catalú and strongly believe Charlotte will be blown away!”
