Forty 8 Hundred, a new restaurant in Oakhurst, opens soon.

A (now) blue house in Charlotte’s Oakhurst neighborhood is getting new life as a restaurant.

Forty8Hundred is open on Monroe Road — (4800 Monroe, get it?). Its owners renovated the former McBonies Bar & Grill.

Here’s what you can look forward to on its menu:

  • Wings: Jerk pineapple, lemon pepper, cury, garlic parmesan, teriyaki
  • Empanada: Fried and filled with white fish ceviche, chicken or cheese
  • Jerk shrimp bowl: With white rice, cabbage & sweet plantains
  • Oxtails ramen: Noodles with soup made from soy-based curry sauce, veggie broth, rich sesame paste, spicy chili oil and pepper, flavored minced chicken, scallions and fresh vegetables
  • Atlantic Salmon: With king crab served over a bed of herb risotto

The restaurant also offers brunch:

  • Oxtails-N-Creamy Grits
  • Salmon-N-Eggs
  • Potato Cracklings: potato, shrimp, green onions, house sauce

  • Crab cakes with bernaise sauce and Potato Cracklings
  • Mashed avocado, fried eggs, heirloom tomatoes
