After two-year hiatus, Uptown Yolk has now reopened in Charlotte’s South End
Now, Uptown Yolk brunch can be yours again.
After a two-year hiatus, the popular brunch spot is finally back at its new address at The Vantage South End.
THE TEAM: The popular restaurant led by four-time James Beard-nominated chef Gregory Collier and his business partner/wife, Subrina, boasts a full bar led by Leah & Louise bar manager Kayleigh Williams-Brown.
WHAT ELSE? Expect elevated coffee and cocktails and pastries.
Seating is available inside and outside. The space features a mural by Garrison Gist.
HOURS: The restaurant will be open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday initially)
RSVP: Walkup seating will be available, but reservations are encouraged, especially on the weekends, through OpenTable.
MENU: Expect Uptown Yolk favorites, including:
- Tennessee Fries
- Mojo Hash
- Coffee-braised steak
- Diced sweet potatoes
- Roasted mushrooms with an over-easy egg and scallion pesto
- Benny Baja, a seasonal veggie Benedict with two poached eggs and hollandaise
- Sweet Potato Waffles and more.
“Expanding to a full-service restaurant will allow us to bring the best brunch concept in Charlotte to people on a wider scale and expand our clientele even further,” Greg Collier previously said.
The Vantage South End, home to Lending Tree’s new headquarters, also includes a second location of The Good Wurst Co. delicatessen, Culinary Dropout, Dram & Draught whiskey and cocktail bar and more.
The Yolk started out in Rock Hill, then moved to the 7th Street Public Market — now called the Market at 7th Street — until it closed at the beginning of COVID-19, which brought Uptown traffic to a halt. But plans called for it to return all along. “Don’t fret! We’ll be back slangin pancakes and waffles soon!” a message on its Instagram said at the time.
The restaurant is part of the Colliers’ BayHaven Restaurant Group.
