Celebrate Rosh Hashanah in Charlotte with these holiday meal packages

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is coming up soon, and meals to celebrate with family and friends are now available for preorder in Charlotte.

The holiday — when is customary to eat sweet foods symbolizing blessing and prosperity such as apples and pomegranates — begins this year in the evening of Sunday, Sept. 25 and ends in the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Gather family and friends for a meal together at the the Charlotte Torah Center, which is hosting after services during the holiday, or order a Rosh Hashanah meal for pickup or delivery from Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen. (Deadlines for Chabad Center for Jewish Life, Kosher Charlotte and YAFO Kitchen have passed.)

Neighborhood: Lansdowne

The Charlotte Torah Center has invited guests to celebrate and share traditions with a festive meal for Rosh Hashanah after services from Sept. 25-27.

Deadline: none

Price: Family tickets are $100; or adults are $40 each, and children under 12 are $10.

Pickup: Dine-in only

Location: 4001-C Yancey Rd. #100, Charlotte, NC 28217

Menu

Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen is offering mains including braised brisket, seared black bass, roast chicken and vegetarian stuffed peppers than can also be made vegan upon request. Salads, challah and apple buckle cake are also available. Items are served cold, and reheating instructions are included.

Deadline: Thursday, Sept. 22 at noon

Price: Varies — the menu is a la carte.

Pickup: Carryout and delivery is available to most areas in Charlotte on Monday Sept. 26 from 2-6 p.m.
