Ready, set, dive: Popular Lake Norman Dive Bar is expanding, with games galore
A new bar with an old school feel and a familiar setup is opening this summer in Concord.
When the doors open to the sixth North Carolina location of Dive Bar in June, you can expect to find a comfortable hangout spot where you can grab a drink and play arcade games while you chow down on classic bar food.
“Opening our sixth Dive Bar location is more than just growing — it’s about building another space where the community can come together,” co-owner Rob Grosskopf told CharlotteFive via email.
“We’re all about having fun, providing exceptional customer service, and cultivating a laid-back place to call your own. We can’t wait to bring that Dive Bar energy to even more folks and become part of another great neighborhood.”
The Dive Bar started in 2021 in a 150-year-old basement in downtown Mooresville and grew to add locations in Hickory, High Point, Mooresville, Cornelius and Winston-Salem.
Each location is a little bit different, with daily specials such as $5 margaritas on Saturdays and $1 hot dogs and $3.50 domestic beers on Sundays.
The age restrictions are a little bit different depending on the location, too. In Cornelius and Mooresville, it’s 21+ only, while the Hickory and High Point locations allow minors until 8 p.m. when they’re accompanied by an adult.
The new Concord location will feature a variety of attractions, including darts, pool tables, pinball, Buck Hunter and arcade games
A specific opening date has not yet been set for the bar, which is right across the parking lot from Benny DeCorsa’s.
“We are in the early stages of construction,” general manager Kevin Stavlo told CharlotteFive via email.
