One of Charlotte’s top mixologists is offering free — yes, free — cocktail classes

Charlotte’s food and beverage scene has its share of amazing cocktails, and one of the people responsible for some of the city’s best is now offering free cocktail classes.

Bob Peters, the beverage director for Built on Hospitality, is a busy guy. He’s crafted the cocktail menus — layered with flavors that blend together beautifully — for these local restaurants:

He’s also stacked up plenty of awards, including being named the best bartender in the world in 2015 during his time at The Ritz-Carlton Punch Room.

Now, he’s helping you learn to create a little bit of that magic on your own.

On Saturday, April 19 at 3 p.m., he’ll be holding a class at The Goodyear House, outside in the greenhouse. No RSVPs are required, so you’ll want to make sure you arrive early to get a good seat. (You can, however, make a reservation to stay for dinner afterward and indulge in some smoked cashew mac or a Goopy Burger.)

If you can’t make it, you’re still in luck. He’ll be doing these classes about once a month, so watch the restaurant’s socials to see when the next one is scheduled.

There’s also an option to head to Rock Hill and catch him doing the same class at Old Town Kitchen and Cocktails. This month’s class is Friday, April 18 at 6 p.m. (And, if you want dinner, you can reserve a seat to hang around and order the Chef Experience, where chef Drew Carter will curate a three-course dinner for you for $40.)
