Get the scoop: Dairy-free ice cream fun is landing in Dilworth this weekend
A new ice cream shop is opening in Charlotte’s Dilworth neighborhood this weekend, bringing allergy-friendly treats to a new location.
Seemingly Overzealous — which makes dairy-free, egg-free and gluten-free ice cream treats — is opening its third location on Saturday, June 21 at noon. The brand got its start in 2023 at Camp North End, then opened a shop in Plaza Midwood in fall 2024.
Customers at the new Dilworth location will find Seemingly Overzealous leaning into a fun vibe with arcade games, gumball sprinkle machines and custom artwork from local artist Brett TWOKAT, along with nostalgic designs from Mad Goat Studio.
To celebrate, an opening day party will take place with special offers and family-friendly activities such as a temporary tattoo pop-up.
Seemingly Overzealous’ opening party
At the opening party on Saturday, Seemingly Overzealous’ new location will serve plenty of its fan-favorite flavors, along with a few surprises.
- The first 40 guests will receive free “emotional baggage” totes.
- From noon-3 p.m. on Saturday, kids’ scoops will be only $2.
- For $3, customers can receive a mystery scoop with no samples and no hints on the flavor — its “Love is Blind” special.
- New creamy creations will be available, too.
