Owner Frankie White — who you may know from seeing him compete in 2020 on Food Network’s ”Girl Scout Cookie Championship” — is a man on the move.
In the past five years, he’s opened and closed a handful of BW Sweets shops around Charlotte.
Then, he shifted to a retail-oriented concept called Destination Sweets, which opened at Northlake Mall in 2023. There, customers could get BW Sweets’ fan-favorite cinnamon rolls, mini cakes, cheesecakes, cookies and other treats on the go in individual portions.
Now, the Destination Sweets location at Northlake Mall has closed up shop, as has the kiosk at Concord Mills. But a new location recently opened in North Charlotte.

Destnation Sweets treats include cheesecake combos, which mesh together White’s popular cheesecakes and cakes for a megablast of flavor.
The Banana Pudding Cheesecake Combo puts New York-style cheesecake on top of vanilla cake with fresh bananas, house-made pudding, vanilla wafers and caramel drizzle. And the delectable Cinnamon Bun Cheesecake Combo includes honey bun cake, cheesecake, a layer of Dream Cream and cinnamon crumble.
There are also a selection of White’s popular cinnamon rolls, cookies, brownies and personal-sized cakes, including the unforgettably named Big Back Strawberry Shortcake Crunch, with strawberry cake, strawberry compote and whipped frosting.
“We are definitely excited to be back in the brick-and-mortar space and to offer the classic experience from our previous bakeries. All of the favorites are back!,” White told CharlotteFive. “We can’t wait to see all of our old customers.”
You can order the sugar-laden creations online, where a message urges you “#DontUnbigYourBack.” Pickup, delivery and nationwide shipping are all options.
