“This community has been our heart, and we are so grateful for every meal shared, every laugh across the table, and every friendship formed within these walls,” the restaurant posted on Friday, Sept. 12. “We invite you to stop by in the coming days to celebrate, reminisce, and enjoy one last taste of what has made The Eagle so special.”

The restaurant didn’t give a reason for the closure. CharlotteFive reached out to The Eagle for more information, and we’re awaiting a response.

The Cincinnati-based chain opened in 2021, offering guests American classics, over 100 craft beers and cocktails, and blues music, CharlotteFive previously reported. The menu runs the gamut from sheet tray nachos and Carolina braised pork sandwiches to kale salads and homemade biscuits.

  • “This was literally one of my favorite restaurants in the entire city of Charlotte,” Tanner Deal wrote on Instagram. “Always had the best music and by far some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. This restaurant will be incredibly missed.”
  • “This is so upsetting!!!” Elizabeth Wright commented. “The Eagle has been one of our favorite restaurants.”
  • “Can you dislike a post? we’re so sad at bonobos!!” Abney Troutman wrote, adding: “y’all have been the BEST neighbors, we’ll miss you so much!!”
