Michelin-recommended pizzeria coming soon to Ballantyne. Here’s what to know
Charlotte’s pizza scene is growing with a new restaurant coming soon to Ballantyne.
Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza, known for its star-shaped pies, is slated to open at The Bowl at Ballantyne this fall, according to a news release sent to CharlotteFive.
It will mark the chain’s first North Carolina restaurant. Mister O1 also has existing locations in Florida, Georgia and Texas.
The Miami-born brand was founded by Italian chef Renato Viola and has been recognized by the Michelin Guide for its “slow-fermented dough, premium ingredients and playful flavors.”
Pizza lovers can look forward to Mister O1 signatures like the Star Luca made with mozzarella, Italian tomato sauce, spicy salami calabrese, basil and a ricotta-stuffed crust. Those in search of something more bold might opt for the Coffee Paolo featuring Gorgonzola, honey, coffee and spicy salami.
Other offerings include salads, calzones, a burrata bar and dessert pizza topped with Nutella.
“Charlotte has grown into a city that values thoughtful, well-crafted food, and Mister O1 fits naturally into that evolution without feeling overdone,” managing partner Deepen Patel said in the release. “This opening feels less like adding another restaurant and more like bringing something genuinely new to Charlotte’s pizza scene.”
