An uptown Charlotte sandwich joint is moving soon. Here’s where and what to know

Mad Dash, known for its gourmet “sandos” and street food classics, will soon have a new home in the heart of uptown Charlotte.

The fast-casual eatery ditched its stall inside The Market at 7th Street for a new storefront at 214 N. Tryon St., inside Truist Center, according to chef and owner Corey Jones. The official opening date is still under wraps.

“New digs dropping soon at Tryon!” Jones teased in a recent Instagram post. “Get ready for double the street eats.”

CharlotteFive reached out to Jones for more information on Wednesday, April 8, and was awaiting a response.

Launched in 2020, Mad Dash offers chef-driven street food including sandwiches, loaded fries and smash burgers, according to its website. Wings and tacos are on the menu, too, alongside hand-spun shakes and floats.

The menu prioritizes fresh, quality ingredients sourced from local vendors in the Charlotte area.

Mad Dash was among the dozen or so vendors featured at The Market at 7th Street. The not-for-profit food hall was recently nominated as one of the nation’s best for its delicious eats and role as a small business incubator for up-and-coming food entrepreneurs, CharlotteFive previously reported.

As Mad Dash prepares to settle into its new digs, Chop Chop Red Pot is slated to open in its old spot. That restaurant, specializing in seafood and southern barbecue, is expected to launch in late April.
