This Bald Head Island Wedding is Beachside Bliss [Kerrie & Scott]

Kerrie, 30, and Scott, 34, were married in a beautiful beachside ceremony June 4 that was big on romance and delicate details. Kerrie and Scott, who hails from Chattanooga, Tenn. decided to be married on the site of one of their first dates: Bald Head Island—two ferry rides off the coast of Wilmington, Kerrie’s hometown.

In Kerrie’s words:

In that first year we had made a pact to have an adventure whenever possible, and this adventure-date to Bald Head Island has always remained one of my favorites. With a backpack stuffed with wine, snacks, and our big Olympus camera we walked the 14 miles of shores. Along the way we stopped along the beach in front of Captain Charlie’s, one of the first houses to be built on the island and home to the first lighthouse keeper. We had a picnic, laid in the sand, talked of life’s mysteries, and shared our first I love you’s. It was on this beach that we said our vows.

The newlyweds honeymooned at Secrets resort in Cozumel, Mexico, where they went ocean scuba diving and enjoyed endless margaritas and poolside service. They now live in Washington D.C., where Kerrie is an operations manager for a public relations and communications firm, and Scott is a software developer.
