Home tours: This wired-up Weddington ‘smart home’ has a pool big enough for the neighborhood
If you live near Neeraj and Denise Singh and you see the umbrellas open in their backyard pool — that’s your invitation to come over.
The Weddington couple has an impressive “smart home”, with home automation by Matthews-based Home Technology Solutions. Using an app on their phones, the Singhs can control the lights, TVs, fireplace, window coverings and more. It also controls a misting system by the outdoor kitchen — and it can even start the hot tub.
The couple built the 4,500-square-foot ranch home (with an upstairs bonus room over the three-car garage) in 2019-2020. The house is made for entertaining — the pool area likely is actually large enough to host the whole neighborhood! The patio is made for football Sundays — with a fireplace, outdoor TV, and bar seating for plenty of friends. The outdoor kitchen has a grill, smoker, full-size refrigerator and more. And during the summer, the outdoor misters keep everyone cool.
“We love entertaining and having the neighborhood over,” Denise told CharlotteFive. “So pretty much every Saturday or Sunday, when you see the umbrellas open up, that’s kinda the sign to come on over. It’s just an all-day affair — we’ll start off before lunchtime and go well into the night.”
If you’re not neighbors with Neeraj and Denise, we’ve got the next best thing: Check out the video above and the photo gallery below for a full tour.
