BOOM Charlotte, a fringe art festival showcasing the work of artists in a variety of mediums including theater, dance, comedy, visual art and more, is back at Camp North End. PAWty for a PAWpose at Lucky Dog Bark and Brew in Steele Creek on April 23 while you shop, listen to music and eat barbecue from the Smoking Rail food truck to benefit the Greater Charlotte SPCA. Early arrivals will get a doggie bag including treats for you and your pets. (But bring your furry friends along only if they are fixed, friendly and up to date on vaccinations.) Take a preschooler to see Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live at Ovens Auditorium. Head to Charlotte Premium Outlets for the return of its “Movie Under the Stars” event series kicking off with a showing of Disney’s recent hit family film ”Encanto.” Before the movie, enjoy a dance party from DJ Mr. Nigel, as well as games, giveaways, face painting, balloon art and more. Seating is not provided, so bring your own chairs or blankets. Movie fare will be sold including popcorn, funnel cakes, water ice and nachos. Admission is free. Spring Fest is back at Sycamore Brewing and will be the brewery’s biggest event in years. Head to Camp North End for Counterculture Club’s weekly outdoor yoga under the water tower in the Boileryard. Counterculture Club is a global alcohol-free community that offers monthly membership, Alcohol Freedom coaching and a variety of regular events for anyone who wants to form like-minded friendships and enjoy social activities without drinking. Charlotte Wine + Food Week is back in full force for the first time since 2019. Beginning April 26, you can enjoy fine wine and culinary experiences at tastings and intimate dinners. Some events have already sold out, but tickets are still available for the Vintner dinner at Angeline’s featuring Vigneron Pierre Seillan wines. Arrive at 6:30 p.m.; dinner begins at 6:45 p.m. 21+. Stroll through The SOUL Expo. The inaugural event April 30 will bring together members of Charlotte’s wellness community to share tools and offer goods for sale. Attend the third annual Crave Charlotte Food and Wine Festival on May 3-8, showcasing the work of the city’s chefs, mixologists and winemakers.
