A new pickleball complex featuring 3 bars, Tex-Mex food is opening at Camp North End
Pickleball is hot — and it’s picking up even more steam in Charlotte. Coming in fall 2024 are plans to open Tipsy Pickle, an entertainment complex with six pickleball courts, three bars and a Tex-Mex style menu at Camp North End.
Construction will begin soon on four indoor and two outdoor pickleball courts at the 35,000-square-foot athleisure destination, along with golf simulators, ping pong, pool tables, shuffleboard, cornhole and darts.
The Tipsy Pickle space will offer indoor and outdoor bars on the main level, and a mezzanine level cocktail lounge — plus multiple event spaces.
Owners Mike Salzarulo and Tanner Brooks teamed up to create the concept.
“Our goal is to create a place where everyone can let loose, unwind and relax. With the array of activities we’re planning and the outstanding food and beverage options, we couldn’t have found a better location than Camp North End,” Salzarulo said.
“Our vision is for people to use this on a weekly or even daily basis and be able to create a different experience every time they come.”
Tipsy Pickle will feature custom technology to manage pickleball leagues, reservations and other activations.
“The popularity of pickleball is growing exponentially and we want to create a place where everyone feels welcome, from the pros to the novices to the sideline heroes just looking to have a good time,” Brooks said.
Participants involved with the project include chef Chad Newton and You Are Here Hospitality, The Plaid Penguin, Southwick architecture + interiors, New South Properties and PointBlank Ventures.
