Chance the Rapper announces Ballantyne show during pit stop in Charlotte

Chance the Rapper is slated to perform in the Charlotte area later this month.

The award-winning artist announced on Instagram last week that he’ll perform May 22 at The Amp Ballantyne. He later posted another video from Lunchbox Records promoting vinyl sales for his mixtape “Coloring Book.”

He also posted a video on X Tuesday, sharing the news while making a stop at Two Scoops Creamery for ice cream.

The Ballantyne show is part of his latest run of performances as attention builds around the 10-year anniversary of the breakout mixtape, which earned him a Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2017. He also won Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance for his 2016 single “No Problem,” which peaked at No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

A special anniversary “Coloring Book” vinyl is expected to release mid-June, according to online listings.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online through Ticketmaster.
