We asked for your favorite Charlotte-area sandwich shops, and we’re down to the best of the best.

On March 2, CharlotteFive invited readers to tell us their favorite places to eat sandwiches. We reviewed your nominations and asked our staff’s foodies to recommend delis or restaurants that should make the cut.

We started with a list of 36 nominees, and the Top 8 are still in the running. Below, you can vote for the local sandwich shop you love the most:

Here’s what to expect for future rounds of the contest:

  • The third round will determine the Top 4. It will be live from about 1 p.m. Friday, March 13 until noon Monday, March 16.
  • The fourth round will determine the Top 2. It will be live from about 1 p.m. March 16 until noon Wednesday, March 18.
  • The fifth round will determine the winner. It will be live from about 1 p.m. March 18 until noon Friday, March 20.

In order to be considered, nominees had to have a “location in the Charlotte region — which includes surrounding areas such as Lake Norman, Gastonia, Matthews, Mint Hill and Fort Mill — and have fewer than 20 locations nationwide,” CharlotteFive reported.
