Garth Brooks sets new date for upcoming concert at Bank of America Stadium
Garth Brooks has set a new date his upcoming concert at Bank of America Stadium.
Originally scheduled for June 13, the concert will take place Oct. 10. All tickets will be honored.
Many concerts and other events around the Carolinas and U.S. have been canceled or postponed due to the new coronavirus.
The concert sold 74,000 tickets in 90 minutes — the largest paid crowd in the history of Bank of America Stadium.
The concert will be the only Carolinas stop on Brooks’ The Stadium Tour.
The 58-year-old Brooks last performed in Charlotte in March 1998, when he sold out two shows on back-to-back nights at the old Charlotte Coliseum, the Observer previously reported. At least 48,000 fans attended those shows.
Last fall, the Carolina Panthers and Bank of America Stadium announced their intention to bring more concerts to uptown Charlotte’s largest venue.
In September, the Panthers and Live Nation said Billy Joel would perform at the stadium on April 18 — the first concert there in nearly eight years. Joel eventually rescheduled the concert to a year later — April 17, 2021.
