17-year-old male among two charged in fatal shooting of man in northwest Charlotte
A teen is facing accessory charges in connection with a fatal shooting Tuesday in northwest Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
The victim was identified as Joshua Hollingsworth, 20, CMPD said.
Two suspects have been arrested, officials said Thursday. Jamal Harris, 24, is charged with “murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon,” CMPD said. And a 17-year-old male faces a charge of “accessory after the fact to murder,” officials said.
His identity was not released due to his status as a minor, police said Thursday.
The shooting occurred in the 1100 block of Mayfield Terrace Drive, north of the West Brookshire Freeway. The neighborhood is near L.C. Coleman Neighborhood Park.
“Shortly after 10:45 p.m. ... officers responded to reports of someone who had been shot,” CMPD said in a release.
“When they arrived, officers located an adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported by Medic to CMC Main and later pronounced deceased.”
CMPD did not release details of a any suspects in the shooting.
