$1 billion logistics company moves its headquarters to Charlotte from Northeast state

A $1 billion company has moved its headquarters to Charlotte as part of the company’s rapid growth.

Odyssey Logistics has moved its headquarters from Danbury, Connecticut, to the fifth floor of Whitehall Corporate Center at 3545 Whitehall Park Drive, the company told the The Charlotte Observer on Friday. The southwest Charlotte corporate office has 80 employees.

The executive leadership team, as well as IT, human resources, sales support and marketing, moved into the more than 23,000-square-foot office on Feb. 10, Odyssey said.

Odyssey is a private logistics solutions provider with annual revenue of $1 billion and a freight network that exceeds $3 billion globally, according to the company.

Moving to Charlotte offered several advantages, according to Odyssey, including attracting talent, lower cost of living and upgraded facilities.

“Our new location also provides updated facilities and convenient proximity to a key international airport and our clients,” Odyssey’s CEO Hans Stig Moller said in a statement to the Observer.

Moller called Charlotte “the heart of a major supply chain gateway” as Odyssey accelerates its growth plan.

Corporate jobs listed in Charlotte on Odyssey’s website Friday, Feb. 21, include talent acquisition.

The new office is less than a mile from Odyssey’s 23,000-square-foot office at 1916 Ayrsley Town Blvd. in Steele Creek. The managed services division with 60 employees includes consulting and optimization services, freight payment, and procurement for global customers, Odyssey said.

Last year, Odyssey made 43 hires in Charlotte, the company said.

The Charlotte Business Journal first reported about the move.
