SouthPark mall adding 9 more stores, including a West Coast clothing shop

A men’s apparel shop is the latest store debuting in SouthPark with more quickly following, including a children’s immersive retail site.

On Friday, national men’s apparel brand Johnnie-O also will open at The Village at SouthPark, mall owner Simon said. The brand is known for its signature four-button polo shirts and a logo featuring a surfer and surfboard.

Founded 20 years ago by John O’Donnell in Santa Monica, California, it also features prep and performance everyday style, Simon said. The brand includes Paul Simon men’s product store, which has a shop at SouthPark mall. Johnnie-O also has a store in Raleigh.

The Johnnie-O Charlotte store will feature polos, pullovers, button-downs, outerwear and accessories. Johnnie-O also is planning a seasonal trunk show for its fall collection.

More stores at SouthPark mall

Johnnie-O joins several other new retailers at SouthPark mall.

This summer, Sarku Japan joined restaurants in the dining pavilion with Japanese cuisine, including rice bowls, noodle bowls and sushi rolls. Founded in 1987, Sarku Japan is headquartered in Ontario, Canada, and has over 180 locations in 32 states. Sarku has four stores in North Carolina, including at Carolina Place mall in Pineville.

In the spring, clothing brand Tommy Bahama’s first Marlin Bar debuted followed by jeweler Gorjana of Laguna Beach, California, in the mall’s center court and the iconic watchmaker Swatch in a 830-square-foot space at the mall’s fountain court.

Other recent additions include Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Chanel Fragrance & Beauty and BRITTO art retail store near Belk.

Others stores that are planned, according to Simon and the mall’s website, are:

  • CAMP, a family experience company that combines retail and immersive activities and events, will open this fall. The store will debut in the Macy’s wing near American Eagle and H&M. CAMP has nine other stores across the country from Los Angeles to New York City. CAMP’s immersive experience will feature Gabby’s Dollhouse x CAMP, created in partnership with Universal Products & Experiences, Simon said
  • Boll & Branch, a home goods company based in Summit, New Jersey, is opening near the main entrance. The company manufactures and sells organic cotton bed linens, blankets and bath towels, and is the first maker of such goods to be certified by Fair Trade USA, according to the company’s website.
  • Dolce and Gabbana, the famous Italian clothing brand, will open near Circle Court.
  • Mizzen+Main, men’s apparel brand based in Dallas, Texas, will open near Nordstrom.
  • New Balance, footwear and apparel store based in Boston, will open near fountain court.
  • Reformation vintage-inspired and sustainable clothing brand will open between October and December between Circle and Center Court. Founded in 2009, Reformation has over 40 stores in 16 states and Washington, D.C. This will be its first North Carolina store.
  • SuitSupply, featuring jackets and trousers, shirts, accessories and shoes using Italian fabrics, will open in the Belk wing. The company is headquartered in Amsterdam.
  • Zara, a fast-fashion Spanish women’s retailer, will make its North Carolina and Charlotte debut in January.

SouthPark, at 4400 Sharon Road, has 170 stores and restaurants. Simon is based in Indianapolis, and also owns Concord Mills mall in Concord and Charlotte Premium Outlets around the Charlotte region.
